ABOUT DNA JUSTICE
DNA Justice is a nonprofit DNA database built to support authorized law enforcement investigations through voluntary DNA participation. The database provides law enforcement agencies and investigative genetic genealogy practitioners with an additional resource for investigating unidentified human remains and violent crimes.
DNA Justice is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization (EIN 88-2544031). Participation is voluntary, and contributors choose whether to make their DNA available for comparison in authorized law enforcement investigations.
Our Mission
DNA Justice exists to expand the resources available to law enforcement by building a DNA database founded on voluntary participation and informed consent. Our goal is to help authorized investigations generate meaningful leads while maintaining the trust of the people who choose to contribute their DNA.
Why DNA Justice
Investigative genetic genealogy depends on access to DNA profiles from people who have chosen to make their DNA available for law enforcement use. DNA Justice was created to provide a nonprofit database specifically designed for that purpose.
Every voluntary contribution strengthens the pool of DNA available for comparison and may provide an investigative lead that would not otherwise exist. Contributors remain an essential part of that process: participation is a choice, and DNA Justice is built around informed consent and transparency about how contributed DNA may be used.

CeCe Moore
President, Board of Directors
CeCe Moore is a pioneer of investigative genetic genealogy, founder of DNA Justice, and President of its Board of Directors. As Chief Genetic Genealogist at Parabon NanoLabs, her groundbreaking work with law enforcement has contributed to hundreds of successful identifications and landmark IGG cases, including the first conviction, jury-verdict conviction, and exoneration. She also founded DNA Detectives and the Institute for Genetic Genealogy, helping establish the educational foundations of modern genetic genealogy.
Margaret Press
Vice President, Board of Directors
Margaret Press, PhD, is co-founder of DNA Justice and Vice President of its Board of Directors. A pioneer in investigative genetic genealogy, she co-founded the DNA Doe Project, which applies IGG to the identification of unidentified human remains. She is also a founding board member of the Investigative Genetic Genealogy Accreditation Board, helping establish professional standards and ethics for the field. Margaret holds a doctorate in linguistics from UCLA and has a background in software development.
Nancy Landini
Treasurer, Board of Directors
Nancy Landini is an investigative genetic genealogist and Treasurer of the DNA Justice Board of Directors. She serves as Manager of Finance and a volunteer genetic genealogist for the DNA Doe Project and is co-founder of IGGnite DNA. Nancy holds an MBA from the University of Hartford and a BS in Management Information Systems from Central Connecticut State University, with graduate certificates in Genealogical Research Methods from Boston University and Forensic Genetic Genealogy from the University of New Haven.
Dawn Kosmakos
Secretary, Board of Directors
Dawn Kosmakos is a professional genetic genealogist and Secretary of the DNA Justice Board of Directors. She owns SunriseDNA, specializing in complex unknown-parentage research, and volunteers as an investigative genetic genealogist with Moxxy Forensics. Dawn began her genetic genealogy work as a volunteer search angel with DNA Detectives and Search Squad. She brings more than 25 years of administrative experience to DNA Justice and holds a bachelor’s degree in communications.

Alissa Cossaboom
Interim Marketing Director
Alissa Cossaboom is Interim Marketing Director for DNA Justice, where she leads communications, outreach, website strategy, and organizational development. She previously served eight years as Chief Operating Officer of a business consulting firm, overseeing operations, team management, financial systems, and process development. Alissa brings nearly a decade of genetic genealogy experience and advanced genealogical research training to her work and is pursuing a degree in criminal justice.
Sarah Mapes
Graphic Designer
Sarah Mapes is a graphic artist based in Omaha with more than a decade of experience in corporate and remote creative environments. She holds a BA in Fine Arts from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln and specializes in strategic visual design and creative campaigns. Sarah brings a collaborative, thoughtful approach to her work, combining creativity with efficiency to develop clear and engaging visual communications.
